Amsterdam Bed And Breakfast - How To Find A Cheap B&B In Amsterdam

Amsterdam bed and breakfast accommodation is plentiful in this beautiful European city if you know where to look.

Although in Amsterdam, bed and breakfast is not a commonly used phrase, this is effectively the service you get from a local one or two star hotel.

If you stay in a top international hotel of four or five stars, you might even have to pay for breakfast!

The typical Amsterdam bed and breakfast is a small classic Dutch "skinny house" that is cosy but clean and friendly. A comfortable bed and nice breakfast is all you need as you will probably only be there in the evenings and overnight anyway.

The most popular locations in which to find an Amsterdam bed and breakfast are in the city center (near the infamous red light district and coffeeshops) and the museum quarter. If you are a party animal then you should opt for the former but if you prefer your peace and quiet or the beauty of a leafy suburban location then go for the latter - its also usually cheaper as well!

The morning meal served in an Amsterdam bed and breakfast is usually the same everywhere - cured meat and Dutch cheese, breads, jams, orange juice, coffee and tea. Cereal is sometimes served but fried food usually not. If you are looking for a hot breakfast then it is often cheaper to book a normal b&b and buy your breakfast at one of the many cafes and restaurants, rather than book a more expensive hotel.
